Nas Says He Texted Kelis for Sex -- But What Didn't He Say?

When I point out the shortcomings of what men are doing with women, it isn't because I look at the glass as half full. My hope is that women can learn, as I have, to recognize what a man is -- or isn't -- saying so that they can avoid missteps which lead to heartbreak. I thought of this when reading a story about Nas and Kelis. 

While in London, Nas told a crowd of concert goers that he texted Kelis and asked if they could make love one more time. He added that he's still hurting badly and that, "the pain is real, y'll. That sh*t is real."

But, Nas didn't say, "I want to take you out on a date. I want to get back together. I miss my family." All he asked her was whether she would sleep with him. It sounds like he didn't get anywhere with it because he went on stage talking about how much pain he is in. If this is the case, good for Kelis for not caving.

Now, maybe he has said all of this and we just don't know. I'm going off of what Nas told the crowd. Something tells me he didn't say this because he so forwardly told strangers he asked her to sleep with him. It's nice he wasn't being a tough guy and saying, "I'm over my divorce" and acted unphased. 

Nevertheless, most women -- especially a deep woman like Kelis -- know the difference between "I love you" and "Let's have sex." Don't forget Kelis sang "I hate you so much right now! Ahhhhhh!" Chick's deep! She feels it!

Some women might say, "Of course, Vanessa. That's obvious." But, is it always? If your ex, who you miss so very much, texted and said, "let's make love once more," be honest, it can be hard to say no. You might even bank on having sex and having him realize how much he loves you. From there, you hope he'll ask you to get back together. Nuh-uh. Platinum Girls don't work that way. So sorry. Thanks anyway. 

If a man wants a Platinum Girl back, he'd better make it clear that it's for more than sex. She can get sex anywhere. But a good man, well, therein lies the treasure.
