Britney Spears Happy to Sit Around in Sweats with Jason Trawick -- When It Is Ok for a Woman to Dress Down?

I read something sweet that I wanted to share. In her interview with Lucky magazine, Britney Spears said Jason Trawick is different from her ex's because, "[H]e doesn't mind that I sit around in sweats all of the time." From Britney's perspective, I'm sure all men want to think of her as the woman with the snake around her. I can see why she'd appreciate Jason seeing her for who she really is.

Many doubt whether Jason has the best of intentions with Britney. Nevertheless, women love a man who is as equally fine with them dressed down as when they are dressed up. If so, why bother doing her best?

What prompted this post is my want to reconcile why dating coaches say a woman must look her best versus when they're happiest with a man who loves them in sweats. Moreover, that the man is fine with it and seems just as crazy about her. In essence, image isn't everything in relationships. 

Here is what I recommend. In the beginning stages of dating, absolutely look your best. Don't rush to let your guy see you in sweats. Wait a few months if possible. If he's really your Mr. Handsome, you'll have the rest of your life to dress down. But, during those first few months of dating, you want him to see and remember you as the It Girl.

After you've been dating awhile, sweatpants are more acceptable. Still, don't get too comfortable. You don't have the ring yet. So, don't hang out like you're husband and wife when you aren't. The intent should be to look nice as often as possible. Keep him a bit nervous another man will want to steal you from him. 

Once he proposes and after you're married, being more casual is, of course, fine. Make sure, though, you take care of yourself. Not only for health reasons but also because you want him to still find you so attractive he chases you around for sex. The outside equally counts, too, so maintain hair, nails, makeup, and skin. 

Some might think it's silly I've dedicated an entire post to when it's ok for a woman to wear sweatpants. The bigger point I'm making, though, is to make sure you don't become too familiar too soon with a man before he's proposed. Put your best foot forward. It's work, but time invested in yourself never goes to waste.
