Jerry Ferrara Pursued Katie Cassidy 'Til He Got Her -- Why Showing a Man You're Interested Isn't a Must!

I thought this was a cute beginning to a relationship and wanted to share it with my readers.

Gossip Girl actress Katie Cassidy swore off dating actors, but Entourage's Jerry Ferrara wasn't having it! Rumor has it that Katie, 25, wasn't sure at first about dating him. Yet, he wouldn't take no for an answer. Jerry persistently asked her out until she said yes. Now, he makes her laugh and she's happily dating him.

Because he put in so much effort to ensure she would go out with him, he put his best foot forward with those close to Katie. According to the report, Jerry, 32, won over her friends and family. It didn't go into detail on exactly what he did, but I can see him being super sweet!

There are two points I want to make on this one. First, it isn't surprising that Katie's family likes him. When a man must have a woman and works to get her, everyone's approval in her camp becomes hugely important. Families can sense this and it goes a long way when they feel he takes their opinions of him into consideration.

Second is that this article made me think about the times a woman won't play hard-to-get with a man because she's worried he'll pass her by if she doesn't show him that she's interested. Her friends urgently implore her to, "show him you like him or another woman will." Thinking this advice must be true, she'll pursue him only to have it backfire later.

The scenario with Katie and Jerry proves otherwise. She flat-out said "no" when he asked for dates --- forget letting him know she was interested! But, it didn't matter to him that she was initially on the fence, only that he wanted her.

My guess, though, is that she was charming while turning him down. I imagine she kept the conversations pretty light and giggled while saying something like, "oh, so sweet, but nope, not dating actors anymore." Because she was such a doll about the whole thing, Jerry wanted her more. I highly doubt that she snapped or was rude to him about his advances.

The takeaway here isn't tell a man "no" when he asks for a date to make him like you. My point is that you need not "show him how interested you are" in order to keep his attention. Saying "yes" to his invitation for a date and showing up looking great is enough for him to pursue you.

Situations like this, i.e. where the man works to get the girl and tries hard to impress her family, typically end in marriage. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry proposes. If this one doesn't work out, it'll be because maybe Katie doesn't want it.

Tell me what you think! Do you see Jerry proposing to Katie?

Until next time...
