I
read today that Venus Williams has a new Italiano boyfriend. If
you haven’t see him, let’s just see he’s easy on the eye. I’m really
excited for her and hope it works.
But,
she said something that made me nervous he won’t take her seriously if
she continues talking this way about him. Venus told Affari Italian
magazine that his name is Enrico, he’s 29, and a business man from Rome. She then added that she’s “like an octopus” in bed with him.
On
the one hand, it’s good she didn’t divulge that much information about
him. But, what she did say was already too much – and not by my standards. When a woman speaks so openly about her sex
life, she risks that the man will treat her casually.
Venus
gave up no other personal details about him. There was no, “he buys
me flowers, treats me so well, really supportive and proud of my tennis
career.” Nope. Nothing about that. We got his name, age, occupation,
and that she enjoys having sex with him. That was the only intimate part of their
relationship she exposed. And even though it was only a little bit of
information, it spoke volumes.
How
it plays out is the man will start off sending text messages
and leaving voicemails that say, “Hi, I miss your pretty face.” It then goes to the
midnight text that says, “Cum over.” And trust me, a woman always knows
when a man is not taking her seriously and using her for sex. Suddenly he’s not calling like he used to. She can sense he’s not all
that interested anymore.

Having
this happen can really hurt a woman. Once the relationship fizzles,
she’ll wonder where it went wrong. Were Venus my client, I would’ve come
down on her for saying this. Who’s to say that Enrico even wants her
discussing it? If he’s a prominent business man in Italy, he might run
with a conservative crowd who doesn’t want their employees
sex lives internationally aired. We don’t know who he is, but others do.
Some
might say maybe she’s using him for sex, too. But, look at how she’s
looking at him. I don’t believe for a second she’s just in it for
something physical. Her blip makes me think she’s probably not playing
very hard-to-get which means Enrico could become bored very quickly. I’d
be surprised if this one leads to anything long-term. The only way it will is if she starts being more
discreet about their doings in the boudoirs.
If you don't want a man to treat you casually, then don't show him you're willing to discuss your relationship and sex life with just anyone. Handle it with dignity so he knows it's something you value. If you keep it private, he'll see you respect the intimacy you share.
