This
doesn’t mean a woman shouldn’t play hard-to-get! By all means, if you meet Colin, bring your A-game to get him to pursue
you. What it should tell women, though, is be mindful of whatever vibe
you might be giving off.
For
example, do you gossip about others while on dates? Are you otherwise
complaining about what you perceive as people’s insufficiencies? If you
are, he could see it as a turnoff.
In
today’s world of technology-based dating, your first impression begins
from the time he looks at your online profile. Plenty of women are also
using Twitter and Facebook as a way to find dates as well. While it’s
great to put yourself out there, what does your profile say about you?
All
too often, I see a woman’s Twitter profile that reads, “I don’t
give a f#$k!” or “I’m a b!@#h!” There’s also generally a picture of
someone flipping off a camera. You’d think it’s just high school girls
and young women doing this but it isn’t. Adult ladies are doing this,
too.
Besides
being self-deprecating and trying to send a message of indifference,
what men see is edge. Most men don’t want this and the one’s who do
might be really into S&M in a big way. And I say that less than half
jokingly.
One
of the best pieces of advice I received from a married woman is that
you want a man to see you as a break from the rest of the world. Life is
hard enough without having to deal with a woman who has edge to her.
She said to keep it light. This is what Colin means about wanting
someone who’s kind. In the end, men just see it as a lot less work and drama.
