Katherine’s
critics say she didn’t need to address the story in
the first place. The consensus is that Katherine took advantage of being tied with David to drive her PR attention. I think it all
depends on how you look at it. Maybe it could also be said that she kept the rumors from gaining serious momentum.
Throughout
the storm, David’s wife, Victoria, remains calm. According to an
article that came out today, the whole scandal has
her “bemused.” Having been married to David for 13 years now it seems
nothing rattles her. Even back in 2004 when David denied having an
affair with his former PA Rebecca Loos, he said, “I don't flirt
with other women. I exist only for Victoria .” So sweet!
The
reason why I wanted to bring this story to my reader’s attention is
because Victoria ’s a role model of sorts as it pertains to being secure
in her marriage. Most women would be on edge wondering about the
rumors. Not Victoria. It seems like she’s able to find the humor in all
of it.

To
say David’s a sought after man is an understatement. Even in the
Burger King commercial he recently did, his good looks were put on
spotlight -- literally! Both men and women dreamily responded to his
mesmerizing smile.
Not
only does Victoria accept this, she doesn’t even seem possessive or
territorial. Seemingly she has this whole game down pat. She doesn't succumb to the petty, goes about taking care of her family,
and minds her own business. She never discusses it and I venture to guess she’d die of embarrassment before addressing rumors on Twitter.
Don’t
misinterpret what I’m saying. If you really think or know a man’s
cheating, then don't stick around. Staying with someone who
cheats is damaging to your self-esteem and occupies a lot of
precious mental space. You can't have your head in the sand about these
things and must take care of yourself.
To remain an It Girl in your boyfriend or
husband's eyes, do your best to present yourself as a woman who is secure and
grounded. He’ll also greatly appreciate the benefit of the doubt and
your trust when problems arise. Staying steady will make a man feel for
you the same way David feels for Victoria: He will only exist for
you.
