Teresa Giudice Begged Bravo Not to Air Episode with Joe Swearing at Her -- Is She a Woman Covering for Her Abuser?

Reading the article today about how Teresa Giudice begged Bravo to not air the episode where Joe calls her “my bitch wife” made me sad for her. I’m well-aware Teresa’s not very liked on the show. But, the thought of a woman feeling so ashamed of what her husband said about her pulled on my heart strings. Not that Teresa needs my sympathy. Still, I couldn’t help my reaction.

In her own words, Teresa said the agreement with the network is that when you sign up for a TV show, you agree to show everything, both good and bad. Teresa maintains, though, that Joe doesn’t speak to her like that when they’re alone. Otherwise, she says they wouldn’t still be together. Even with the trip to Napa where he called her a whore, Teresa said it’s because of the alcohol and the cameras.

A point Teresa failed to address, though, is how she accounts for who he was on the phone with. Joe told her it was a business call. Yet, no one believed him because given he answered and said, "Hi, Baby." That's not a bump in the road. That's her husband being unfaithful. And instead of kissing her rear and trying to make it right, Joe swears at Teresa like he hates her.

The swearing at her isn't an isolated incident either. What about the time when Joe threatened to leave her if she tried to get him around her family? He sad, "You're a f**king idiot for even going to f**king talk to your f**king retard brother. I don't give a f**k."

Was he going off like that simply because the cameras were around? It's hard to believe someone would be on worse behavior with a camera present. If we give Teresa the benefit of the doubt and it's true the cameras bring out the worst in him, then maybe they should stop doing the show and work on their marriage.

What freaks me out the most about this whole situation is how her begging the network not to air the show is typical of a woman who's being emotionally and/or physically abused. She doesn't want anyone to know because she's ashamed and fears having to answer to it. In my estimation, the network did her a favor. Sure, they aired it for ratings. Yet, the good that comes out of it is we now know what Joe's really like with her.

Therapists say abuse will worsen before getting better unless counseling is had. In so many way I think Teresa should leave Joe. If she refuses to, it'd be helpful if they saw a marriage counselor to see how they can get along better. All I know is so help Joe if this nonsense crosses over to their little girls.

Tell me what you think! Do you believe Joe acts this way because the cameras are around?

Until next time...
