Yesterday, I blogged about how impressed I am with Christina Milian's Rules-y approach to single motherhood. As expected, her ex-husband, The Dream (more like The Nightmare), fired back at her. Taking to his Twitter account like the class act he is, he called her a "gold digging has been" and said what she did was a publicity stunt.
Ummm...excuse me, Mr. Nightmare...when most people engage in publicity "stunts," they do so to make themselves look better. How does Christina's admission that her daughter has an uninvolved father make her look good? It's like saying "Yes, I made such a bad decision picking this man who not only cheated on me but also isn't around for our child." Who would do that?
Of course, Christina hasn't said a word on her Twitter account. She's being Rules-y and seems too busy to even notice his little temper tantrum. Hopefully she won't start for the sake of her baby girl.

Either way, all of his tweets about her hardly make him look like a good father. Even if she is truly out of her mind, why he bad mouth her if he cares for his child? Oh, and when you cheat on your wife months after marrying her -- well -- let's just say you lose your cred.
Several single mothers tweeted, direct messaged, and emailed me yesterday to express appreciation for bringing Christina's story to light. Thank you for all of the lovely words. I wanted to write a follow-up post on it because I know many single mothers deal with mud slinging ex-husbands and boyfriends.
My advice is to stay the course and don't engage in the nonsense. You need all available energy to raise your children. It doesn't make you a doormat, it makes you smart. Ellen taught me that the cream always rises to the top. Be the cream.
Tell me what you think! Did The Dream's tweets make you second-guess what Christina said about his involvement in their daughter's life?
Until next time...
Shine like Platinum!
Vanessa
