Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chemrkovskiy Dating! Will She End up Like Karina Smirnoff?

And the hot new couple reported today is (drum roll...) Dancing With the Stars pro-dancers, Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chemrkovskiy. Rumor has it Maks has really wanted a girlfriend and Peta's had a crush on him for a long time. Though it's new, Maks is very happy and it's getting serious. Don't forget, though, he was engaged to co-star Karina Smirnoff but broke it off in 2009.

I don't have a warm n' fuzzy feeling about this one. Peta was on DWTS Season 12 which started in March 2011. She also dated another DWTS dancer, Damian Whitewood. I couldn't figure out when they split. As of February 2012, though, they were still together.

So, between February and now, she's hooked-up with Maks and it's serious? And, she had a crush on him for a long time? Does this mean she liked him while she was dating Damian?

Either way, I couldn't find any reports that Peta was dating Damian when she first appeared on DWTS. Given Maks was single, it doesn't seem that he had to have her the first time he saw her. Because of this and how long she liked him, I wonder if Peta broke The Rules and made the first move in order to get him.

Since Maks ended an engagement and is Peta's co-worker, he really needs a woman who can play hard-to-get. Peta might want to dial back the seriousness in order to keep him interested. If he didn't have to have her the first time around, he might not care whether he loses her at all. I predict this one won't last because I suspect there's Rules-breaking and it's moving too fast.

If anyone has access to information I couldn't find on this one, let me know. I'd like to think she didn't make the first move and that this could work for them. But, no reports were contrary to what came out today.
